Did any of you watch the E3 preshow conferences? I caught it on G4 tv (commercial time cut out some big stuff, such as the better half of a Halo3 trailer) and was a little dissapointed by Microsoft. Just to highlight the good stuff; Mass Effect is coming out in November, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare looks and plays amazingly (The thought of it being a theme for a big game even popped up), Resident Evil 5 is looking nice and was the talk of the show, and Halo 3 is nothing short of spectacular. They even had a live action short shown that was made by the Halo film director and Peter Jackson. There's another 360 coming out thats 'Halo themed', which means its green with an orange disk tray. Its basically, as far as I know, the same as the 360 Elite.
Nintendo showed off, what else? Mario Kart for the Wii, Zelda on DS, and Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii, as well as the announcement that Super Smash Bros. Brawl is coming out in December.
I have next to no information on Sony, except there will be mention of the price cuts and the new 80 gig PS3, as well as some footage on a little known game called Killzone 2.

yeah e3 was nice, i knew a couple people that got to visit, but the quatily of e3 has been dropping over the years. I'm hoping next year they can bring back big powerful boths and not just have a couple tv's set up.
On a side note Microsoft looks very promising with the christmas season coming up and there selected games to release. One you missed would be Assain's Creed. But on a no no for microsoft, the leak of how all the 360's released are defective in some way, hopefully, leads to a complete recall.
Sony, was sony. Price cuts, and the drop of the no more 60 gigs. Keeping with the tradional franchised games, nothing to really keep people wanting more.
Nintendo, IMO would take the cake this year. With the release of the Wii Zapper and Wii balance pad. Also the display of the Wii stearing wheel. They defintily keep you wanting more.
All in all in okay E3, i'm hopeing for better next year.

Same here. And I can't believe I missed Assassins Creed. The 'price-cut of the PS3 kinda ticked me off, but when you factor in a more consistantly larger hard drive and built in Blu-ray, as well as games like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2 coming out next year, the price is reasonably fair.
Microsoft didn't need to try to compete with Nintendo's mainstream power, and should've stuck to covering hardcore games for both this year and next year. A few excellant titles such as Alan Wake and Halo Wars were just glanced over just because they release next year, though I did enjoy seeing next years Resident Evil 5.
Nintendo did nothing wrong, except it needs to also factor in that some people want more than Mario and a fitness game. Resident Evil on that title isn't too impressive, and the wii zapper is a little too soft and flimsy for my taste.
Here's to a more jaw-dropping E3 next year.
