Please, let Blast Camp know how we did for this big game. Explain in detail what you like or disliked. What you thought of our prizes? If you liked the paint or disliked. Or even what you thought of the reffing staff. Or what could have been better.
All input will be taken in consideration for the next big game
See you all at the USO game July 28! Next big game sep 23!
Please no ranting. And keep the converstaions mature.

The Bad There was one time where i just started all out cussing my brains out at red. that was when blue was just reinserted and we didn't even get to the road that went to the right. and red started fireing and hitting us all over the place. none of us got out and we all started saying it was B/S. then 3 refs came and didn't really do anything...Another thing was the paint. too hard. i calld myself out 5 times b/c i got hit nut the ball didn't break. i still got out. but there was no breaks. at embassy i got shot in the fingers (by my own guy) and i calld "HIT" but i lookd down and no break. (scott you were there)...(try using evil paint. it's really brittle) The Good The scenario. i thought it was well thought out and it all went really great. Good reffing.(although you should get more ref's for next big game). really good reffing and good calls. only one tank. that really mixd things up. i know i hid from the tank everytime it came by the first half... just a question. why did the paint have the smart parts symbol on it?

just a question. why did the paint have the smart parts symbol on it? KEE sent us a differnet batch of paint because our "FIELD" print ball bounced. Which as we saw today, the new stuff did the same. Logo must be a field samp for another field.

Pros: Refs were in their prime. The main objectives I found fun and challenging. Nice haul of gun prizes. Gun truck was a fierce piece of opposition and support. Balloon mortar needs to be fit into some sort of scenerio, cuz that thing was a blast to just watch, not to mention an interesting way to wash the trucks.
Cons: The new paint hardly broke and hit much harder than the "field" paint. Blue players needed to be inserted deeper into the Wall area; Both Red and Blue players found it very inconvienent. Some prizes (5 pack Squeegees anyone?) I found a little rediculous, though some newer players who don't own their very own were happy to recieve them. Also, with the gun truck, give the guys at the Wall a bit of a break if you do a similar scenerio. I noticed the lack of Blue OpFor a bit strange and dull.
As a side note, I suggest there being a main objective briefing when we take guys out onto the field. Apparently, few people knew the overall objectives on Red team, hence the desertion of the Complex and Embassy. It takes time to do it, but it might help keep the games a little more organized.

well the paint first off. the first time i was taken out was near reds insert point ( second session ) there was a group of us firing into the place an we watched the return fire. i watched a ball bounce TWICE on the pavement like a superball an then broke on my pocket. after that i was hit repeatedly an nothing broke. i will have to agree with Mr.C on the Squeegee part. altho getting a lil something is nice, but maybe something like a day pass with gun rental ( an they buy the paint ) or a $10 gift card for the store ( just a few things off the top of my head. ) the rest of the prizes were cool, i dont go to a big game to win prizes i go to play an if i win something its a bonus.
as for the refs : just once was i a lil upset with a ref. when all us blue had not even made it to the first road when we were fired upon, i called for a paint check an as the ref was checking i got shot a split second before he said clean. i asked about it an nothing was said, i called out anyway.
i liked the fact there seemed to be more missions then the last big game, but i liked the last big game more . to me there was more fire fights in the last one. i traveled more of the field this time then last an hardly had any fire ( more friendly fire then anything i think.)
all and all, anyday i can go let some paint fly its a good day, an i will always take a big game over a 15/30 min game any day. you may not see me out there often due to the fact i live in Waukegan Il. but i will be there in Sept. keep up the good work.

As a side note, I suggest there being a main objective briefing when we take guys out onto the field. Apparently, few people knew the overall objectives on Red team, hence the desertion of the Complex and Embassy. It takes time to do it, but it might help keep the games a little more organized. Players were told several times to read the scenario. I am not responsible for players not knowing the game. It is YOUR responsibility to know what your objectives are. They are written in plain english on the game boards. Maps were available to al players if they wanted one. Paint: I was promised a decent breaking batch, and I am doing everything I can to keep good paint out there. Evil paint is not a good all around paint. In many CO2 powered blowbacks, the paint breaks before it leaves the breech of the marker. Prizes: Do not complain about winning a 5pack of swabs, whats wrong with giving away small prizes along with the guns? I do not see any room for complaint there. We gave away over $3,500 in prizes yesterday. I like giving away lots of prizes so roughly half of the players leave with something. Tank: The gunners in the tank were told not to fire on inserting players at the wall, but what we tell them and what they do dont always add up. The game was very mission based, and in order to progress in the missions, previous ones must be completed. There were 4 missions that were not even used because the teams did not complete prevous missions. Example: Mission-Plant roadside bombs in front of the wall/Protect the wall from roadside bombs-time=30 minutes.
The team was given the roadside bombs, the tank, and instructions on what to do and where to put the bombs. These players proceeded to set the props inside the tank and run off onto field two, yelling and screaming, and were never seen again. Mission failed, attackers awarded 1000 points by default. The reffing staff was positioned for the scenario, and we did our best to follow up on any cheating or overshooting that happened on the field. This Big Game was straight forward as far as objectives, and missions. The prizes were exemplary for a summer game, and everything went rather smooth (with the exception of the paint ) I hope everyone enjoyed 4500 fills and the full day of action on the field. side note: the mortar is still in the testing phases, and it is unclear at this time if it will be put into use for any big games in the future. Paint issues are nothing new to paintball, and it is an ongoing battle with paint manufacturers to have quality paint on a regular basis. See everyone at the Fall Big Game

I know what you told everyone, Scott. It really was a shame that people just don't really understand that mission completions, not eliminations, win scenerio games.
I apologize for the attitude toward the prizes. I know that you were trying to give players a good chance of winning something. Sometimes players who have things that seem small and unimportant (Squeegees are life-savers out on the field) get jaded to the fact that some people don't have such things. Again, I apologize.
Everything I noted was small, and almost every problem was player related, and has little to do with the fabulous staff at Blast Camp . This field is like freedom to me, wheather to chill out and discuss tactics and gawk over equipment, or just vent out and have a grand time during the games.
It was a great game and can't wait for both Operation Gratitude and Operation Citadel.
On a side note, the air ball field setup looked great, though I didn't take part in the action myself.

had fun at the big game but had a huge problem with friendly fire. it would really help if the refs told us where to wear the colored tape cause sometimes i would stare at someone for a couple of seconds before realizing it was someone on the other team

The tape would probably get wound tight round the band of my mask, so people in the rear can tell.

Well we had a great time, the only thing was the paint, I took multiple hits and no breaks. My shoulders show it to! As far as the Refs, I thought they did a great job. All you had to do was say "hey you might want to head over to such and such" and they were on it. No problems.
Missions were straight forward, all you had to do was read them.
Prizes, No one should say anything cross about that prize giveaway, I have been to games with 1000 + players and they only gave away two guns, and if you got a squeegee it was one not a whole pack.
We have made a team decision that BlastCamp will be at least one stop each season for us. Thanks to everyone involved in the production of the game. Nice to meet you guys and I hope to make it back up before the end of the season. Larry

Friendly fire is a "problem" faced in paintball. (even in a tournament) Players shoot first and ask questions later. I have accidentally shot my own team, and have been eliminated due to friendly fire on multiple occasions. I reccommend attaching your tape to your marker. In case you're around a corner and someone asks to see your color, the only thing you need to expose is your marker. I always ask for extra tape to tie to my goggle strap (just as Mr. C. stated) so the guys behind me know who I am, but its also revealing on the field if you're wearing extensive camouflage.
No offense has been taken from any posts, and we appreciate all feedback good and bad. The negative feedback gives us an idea on what we need to improve upon in future events.
Continue with the feedback. All is appreciated.
